How VR Safety Training Solved EHS Consulting’s Challenges
EHS Consulting provides a wide range of services related to occupational health and safety. Their offerings include introductory and periodic training, as well as fire safety courses. For some time now, they have also been incorporating our Virtual Reality training applications into their programs. But why?
We conducted a brief interview with Agnieszka Kuźmicka, CEO of EHS Consulting, to learn about her perspective on VR training.
The Challenge
Traditional training, especially in fire safety and occupational health and safety, comes with numerous logistical and regulatory challenges. Organizers must ensure compliance with strict safety protocols while delivering effective and engaging training. EHS Consulting, with its experience in the industry, faced several key challenges, including:
Difficulties in organizing fire safety training – Live fire extinguisher drills required securing an appropriate space, equipment, scheduling sessions, and arranging certified instructors.
Engagement and attractiveness – Clients sought more engaging training solutions that would capture employees' attention and enhance participation.
Evacuation drills – Conducting evacuation training required renting large outdoor spaces, which added complexity and logistical hurdles.
High costs – Hiring qualified trainers, renting buildings, and acquiring equipment resulted in significant expenses and scheduling constraints.
Why Did EHS Consulting Choose VR Technology for OHS, Fire Safety, and First Aid Training?
The idea of using VR for training emerged as the company searched for ways to make their programs more engaging. The entire team quickly realized that VR not only solved the issue of engagement but also addressed many of the logistical and cost-related challenges they had been facing.
The Solution & Results
EHS Consulting participated in a free trial of our VR training applications. Following the trial, they decided to invest in two Meta Quest headsets and purchased the Professional package, which grants access to all our training applications.
With VR technology, fire safety and evacuation drills can now be conducted anytime, anywhere. Simply put on the headset and designate a small area in the room to experience a realistic fire extinguishing scenario or an emergency evacuation. Training is no longer dependent on renting spaces, weather conditions, or equipment availability—it’s ready to go instantly. Additionally, eliminating the need for rented facilities and external trainers has led to significant cost savings.
Additional Benefits of VR Training for EHS Consulting:
Reduced need for trainers – The technology has minimized the number of instructors required, reducing overall training costs.
Enhanced service offering – By incorporating VR, EHS Consulting now provides a more comprehensive and modern training portfolio, making them more competitive in the market and attracting more clients.
